Fast and Furious 9 movie release postponed

The release of the ninth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise has been delayed.
The movie, which was slated to release in the US in 2019 will now see light of day in April 2020, reports Indian Express.
No reason has been given by Universal Pictures, the studio behind the movie for the change. Furthermore, there is no word yet on whether the release date for Fast and Furious 10 which was April 2021 has also been changed.
While movies get delayed all the time, co-star Tyrese Gibson did not take the news well, lashing out at Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock and producing partner, Hiram Garcia.
That being said, this is not all bad news. Universal Pictures has confirmed that the gap year will be filled by the franchise's first non-numbered, feature-length featuring recurring characters Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckhard Shaw (Jason Statham), according to CTV News.
Instead of the April 19, 2019 date that Fast & Furious 9 vacated, the Statham and Johnson movie is set for July 26 instead.
